There’s no question the travel landscape has drastically changed since the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020. Indeed, there is a lot more to consider when planning a trip anywhere in the world—including our islands. Fortunately, it’s still possible to travel to Turks and Caicos and to do so with relative ease, as long as you’re prepared and equipped with the knowledge of the travel requirements to visit our beautiful-by-nature islands.
At Blue Heron Vacations, our job is not only finding the perfect villa rental for you—we want to ensure your Turks and Caicos vacation is seamless and worry-free from beginning to end. That’s why we’re breaking down the Turks and Caicos COVID-19 restrictions and entry requirements for you, so you can step on the plane headed for Providenciales International Airport safe in the knowledge that you’re fully prepared to follow all of the safety protocols in place.
Let’s start with the good news: Not only are the Turks and Caicos open for tourism, but as of February 2022, there is no quarantine period required upon arrival.
But if you want to be extra cautious—and want to get the most out of your time in Turks and Caicos—we recommend you consider staying in a villa rather than a resort.
What are the benefits of booking a villa over a resort?
One word comes to mind that’s even more important in the time of COVD: Privacy.
While there are many beautiful resorts in Turks and Caicos, you’ll inevitably come into contact with many people during your stay, including resort staff and fellow guests. And if you’re staying at a beachfront hotel, you’ll be sharing the beach (and pool) with more people than you would on a stretch of beach in front of a private villa. One of the biggest perks of booking a beachfront villa: there’s a good chance you’ll have the beach to yourself during your stay. And in the time of COVID, few things sound more appealing than breathing fresh air on one of the best beaches in the world without another soul in sight.
Private Villa Rental
The privacy and seclusion that comes with a private villa can be appealing on its own, but it’s especially important for those traveling with family members or friends who are older or immunocompromised.
You can further limit your exposure to other people during your villa stay by hiring a private chef instead of eating out at restaurants, hiring a band or DJ instead of going out to see live music, and so on.
We understand that the idea of renting a private villa can sound unaffordable. But if you’re traveling with family or a large group, consider how many rooms your travel party would have to rent to accommodate everyone. And while some high-end villas certainly will be on the expensive side, we offer a variety of villa options that range in price so that there’s something for almost every budget.
